By: Dolby - 01-08-2007 07:23PM

Ready for Echoes of Faydwer
By: Dolby - 11-13-2006 11:30PM
EQ2Map is ready for the expansion Echoes of Faydwer. SOE created 18 new maps for Echoes of Faydwer and those maps have been added to the website and EQ2Map for your dotting pleasure. If you do not see any maps when you visit the new lands you are running an older version of EQ2Map so you will want to make sure you run your EQ2Map updater before you login to EverQuest II tomorrow. If you are using the manual version of EQ2Map you’ll want to download and install the new version. Now I can work on finishing the PoA maps!
The Fallen Dynasty
By: Dolby - 06-12-2006 02:24AM
New maps have been released by SOE for two zones in The Fallen Dynasty. EQ2Map has been updated so that it will show these new maps and allow for new POI’s. Since this adventure pack is in public beta on the test server we thought it would be best to update EQ2Map now. Beta testers please be smart in your new POI submissions. Only submit things that you know for sure wont change when this adventure pack goes live. Village of Shin The Mystic Lake

Every one that uses this zone please help fill the map with POI's. Check the map on the webpage first to make sure some one hasnt added the same POI you are going to submit first. Changes to The Isle of Refuge for LU19
By: Dolby - 02-02-2006 09:32AM
The Isle of Refuge is now split into 2 separate zones. We have not been able to do this before LU19. You will now notice The Isle of Refuge split into two maps: The Queen's Colony & Outpost of the Overlord. POI's will need to be re-submitted as things have changed a great deal in these zones.
EQ2Map XML Update and POI Filtering
By: Dolby - 01-29-2006 08:37PM
Landiin (xml guru), SaintPeter (site php) and myself (site php) have added the ability to filter POI's while in game. You will notice a plus sign in the upper left corner of each map. If you click the plus sign a menu will drop down allowing you to select what POI's to show for the zone you are in. Also with this update are major changes to the plug-in system and skinning system. Landiin will be posting details on this in the eq2map forums soon. Currently the updater is set to overwrite all files so those that update to the new eq2map dont have trouble. In about a weeks time we will set the patcher to only update the skinning files if its missing from the folder.

Map window face lift
By: Dolby - 11-10-2005 09:14PM
The EQ2Map window just received a nice face lift so it matches the new look of the LU16 default interface. The waypoints button was added back in along with the ability to toggle eq2map icons on and off. Thanks goes out to the xml guru’s Mahonri and Landiin for updating the in game map window. This is currently only available from the auto updating version of eq2map. A new build for the manual version will be released soon.

EQ2MAP's new website!
By: Dolby - 11-02-2005 10:50PM
The new much anticipated EQ2Map site is now open! This new site has been re-written from the ground up to provide the backbone to grow, better security, and stability. This upgrade was long in the works and was pushed into over-drive as of late when some one decided to exploit the old site that EQ2Map had out grown. With this update not only does it give us a stronger backend it also comes with some great new & updated features. Features:
  • Improved map navigation.
  • Improved POI submitting system with error checking.
  • Improved commenting and reporting features.
  • Improved searching & advanced searching features.
  • You can now click on POI icons on the map.
  • POI Submitters can now edit/update their own POI's.
  • New site design.
  • New website template system to allow for multiple skins.
  • Improved database layout.
  • Improved automation for admins adding new maps.
  • and more coming soon...
There are also many other features still in the works to be added in the near future. We felt we didnt want some of these other features to hold up the release of the new site since the old one had to be disabled. I wish to share my heart felt thanks to SaintPeter for the tremendous amount of work he put into this new site especially since time has been so tight this month for the both of us. I also want to give thanks to taco-man for helping us with a few problems even while he is in college busy studying and a thanks to the original EQ2Map team is also in order because with out them this project may have never been started. If you see any of these people in game or anywhere please be sure to let them know how much they are all appreciated. Last but not least I want to share my thanks with the Everquest II community. This is a community project and with out you this map project wouldn't be anything.
